What this type means

The Verifier pattern combines low default trust with high evidence requirement. Often rooted in either a single significant betrayal or a long childhood of unreliable adults. Overrepresented in finance, audit, security, and any profession that rewards skepticism. Roughly 15–20% of the population.

In relationships

You're reliable once you're in. The cost: people sometimes give up trying to earn it. Slow-trust types can be lonely without realizing why.

Watch for

Evidence accumulates slowly; you may be passing on people who would have been excellent at year three. Calibrate which categories of trust need that much runway.

The growth edge

Identify low-stakes trust where you can extend more freely. Save high-verification for actual high-stakes domains. Otherwise your whole life runs at "audit" pace.
