The Over-Truster

You trust your mind on everything, equally. No domain modesty. Strong on conclusions, gut, memory — all treated as reliable, even where you're a beginner.

What this type means

The Over-Truster shows uniformly high self-trust without much calibration to track record. Distinct from the Confident pattern — this is high trust independent of evidence. Often present in people whose early-life environment rewarded confidence over correctness. Roughly 8–12% of the adult population. The work is calibration to actual track record.

In relationships

You're confident in every conversation. The cost: you can be loudly wrong, and you're slow to update. People around you have either learned to challenge you or stopped trying.

Watch for

The over-truster's shadow is poor calibration. Strong gut in domain A and strong gut in domain B aren't the same thing — but you treat them as equally weighted.

The growth edge

Pick three domains where you have no track record. Treat your conclusions in those as hypotheses, not knowledge. The discipline isn't to trust less — it's to trust DIFFERENTIALLY.
