The Family Map

"Your role, your needs, your frictions — and the dyads you actually live in."

Pick your version. Same questions, age-tuned language.

Parents: kids under 12 should take this with a trusted adult nearby — not for evaluation, just so they can ask what something means.

A promise about privacy

Your answers stay yours. Nobody else in the family will ever see them.

  • What never gets shared: The specific questions you saw, the answers you gave, anything you wrote. Not with parents. Not with siblings. Not with us as anything more than an anonymous archetype tally. Ever.
  • What CAN get shared, only if you opt in: Just your archetype name (e.g. "The Anchor") and the broad-stroke dyad reads ("you two are aligned on Caretaking; you differ on Skepticism"). You can turn even this off later from your profile.
  • Especially for kids and teens: The point of this test is for you to understand yourself, not for your family to evaluate you. If you don't want to share your archetype either, that's fine. You stay in the family group; your read stays hidden.

Common questions

Is The Family Map free?

Yes — completely. No signup, no paywall on your results, no upsell at the end. Every Wrenlight test is free, and your result feeds your evolving cross-test Portrait.

How long does The Family Map take?

~6 min — 21 questions. Every question is scenario-based — real situations rather than abstract self-ratings — so it moves quickly.

What does The Family Map measure?

6 dimensions — Anchoring, Bridging, Outsider, Performing, Caretaking and Skepticism — each measured by at least three differently-shaped questions, resolving into one of 7 types.

How is it scored?

Each answer carries weights toward the dimensions; your 0–100 scores map to the closest of the 7 types, and borderline results are flagged as borderline rather than rounded into false confidence. Full details on the methodology page. How this is measured →
